1 STUDY ON DISLOCATION INVERSION OF Ms6.6 DAMXUNG EARTHQUAKE AS CONSTRAINED BY InSAR MEASUREMENT

Three scenes Envisat1 images from ESA were used to derive the preseismic and coseismis deformation interfereograms caused by the Damxung \%M\%s6.6 earthquake on Oct. 6, 2008, constrained by InSAR. The results indicate that InSAR could not detect notable crustal motion more than 4 months before the event which caused distinct displacement in an area of 20 km×20 km with a maximum LOS change about 0.3 m. The deformation field was symmetrically distributed and separated by a NS axis, where the west subsided and the east rose. We used a linear elastic dislocation model in half space and nonlinear constraint optimized algorithm to estimate the dislocation value and distribution of the fault. The results indicate that the epicenter locates at E90.374°, N29.745° with a seismic moment tensor \%M\%w6.35. The earthquake is dominated by a normal fault fracture with the maximum slip of 3m on the 12 km×11 km rupture surface striking S189°W, dipping 60°to NW at the bottom of 9.5 km, located at a sub-fault of the southeastern piedmout of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains. The seismic fault extensionally moves along EW. The shallow depth of epicenter is related to crust thermal status of seismic region.

8 ANALYSIS OF DISTURBANCE FROM CALCULATION DATUM OF LONGMENSHAN REGIONAL GRAVITY NETWORK

On the basis of fine process of all the observation data of Longmenshan regional gravity network, the analysis method of statistic correlation is used to study the stability of the calculation datum in the classic indirect adjustment and its disturbance on adjustment results. The gravity changes in which calculation datum disturbance is corrected show that the gravity anomalyl before Wenchuan earthquake is obvious and its characteristics is distinctive. Thus the stability of calculation datum
must be considered when conventional regional gravity network data are processed and analyzed.

13 STUDY ON ABNORMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF IONOSPHERETEC ABOVE SOUTH-CHINA RESPONDING TO TWO STRONG EARTHQUAKES

On the basis of the VTEC data given from Guangzhou GPSTEC observational network,the characteristics of ionosphere VTEC above South China region before 7.2 earthquake in Taiwan on 26 Dec. 2006 and Wenchuan 8.0 earthquake on 12 May 2008 are analyzed with the reference of the mean and standard deviation for 15 days. As a result,we found that the anomaly of ionosphere VTEC over
South China region before the earthquakes took place continuously for 8 days and then the abnormal characteristics responding to two strong earthquakes are discussed and contrasted with the other from some literature. Further more the preliminary discussion on the mechanism of ionosphere anomaly caused by strong earthquake is down.

18 ON RELATIVE WEIGHT RATIO RELATION BETWEEN CHARACTERISTICS OF FAULT SLIP AND VARIOUS TYPE OF INVERSION DATA

The relative weight ratio taking fault slip characteristics into account was investigated when inversion with horizontal displacement,elevation changes and gravity variations.Numerical simulation experiments for the activities of the strikeslip fault,dipslip fault and extension fault are carried out respectively.The results show that:1)The relative weight ratio of the horizontal displacement plays a dominant role in the case of strikeslip fault; 2)The relative weight ratio of the elevation changes is bigger than the gravity change’s on the dipslip fault; 3)The relative weight ratio of gravity variations is biggest in the case of extension fault.

22 STUDY ON PRESENT-DAY VERTICAL CRUST MOVEMENT AND SEISMIC ACTIVITY IN XINJIANG AREA

By processing three period sophisticated leveling data of Xinjiang,including year 1951—1969,1976—1984 and 1991—1999,with the dynamic rank defect free network adjustment,we obtained the presentday crust movement rate map and gradient map and analyzed the crust vertical movement characters and predicted its future trend on the basis of the maps.Meanwhile the relations among vertical crust movement rate,vertical velocity gradient and seismic activity are analyzed with the collection of strong earthquakes(Ms≥7)since last century.The study shows that in network covered region,strong earthquakes mainly occure in or around the gradient abnormal zones with the rising crust vertical velocity rate.

28 CHARACTER OF COSEISMIC VERTICAL DISPLACEMENT NEAR BEICHUAN DURING WENCHUAN Ms 8.0 EARTHQUAKE

After the Wenchuan \%M\%s 8.0 earthquake,
the First and Second Crust Monitoring and Application Centers of China Earthquake Administrator
measured two first order leveling lines from Pingwu to Beichuan to Mianzhu, which is of 201.8 km, and from Guixi to Jiangyou, which is of 35.6 km,respectively. By processing and analyzing the leveling data before and after the earthquake, we calculated the coseismic vertical displacement and obtained some results as follows. 1)The coseismic vertical displacement in Qingchuan fault near the ancient urban of Pingwu caused by Wenchuan \%M\%s 8.0 earthquake is small as the relative vertical displacement between the hanging wall and foot wall of the Qingchuan fault is 0.064 m and the Qingchuan fault shows thrust fault properties.2)The coseismic vertical displacement in BeichuanYingxiu fault near Beichuan caused by Wenchuan \%M\%s 8.0 earthquake is large, the maximum vertical displacement is 4.711 m and the relative vertical displacement of the BeichuanYingxiu fault is 5.100 m, the BeichuanYingxiu fault shows thrust fault properties too.3)The coseismic vertical displacement in BeichuanYingxiu fault near Guixi is about 2.440 m.4)The coseismic vertical displacement in JiangyouGuangyuan fault about 12 km northwards from Jiangyou is small as, the relative vertical displacement
of the JiangyouGuangyuan fault is 0.101 m.5)The coseismic vertical displacement in BeichuanYingxiu fault near Nanba in Pingwu is relative large as the relative vertical displacement of the BeichuanYingxiu fault is 1.381 m, the Qingchuan fault shows thrust fault properties.

32 PATTERN ANALYSES OF HYPOCENTRAL PARAMETERS IN TANGSHAN EARTHQUAKE REGION

Through data processing the location results of micro earthquake in Tangshan region with grid interpolation method the distribution patterns of earthquake magnitudes, original times and hypocentral depths were obtained. The pattern of magnitude distribution is characterized proximately by northeastern zones along TangshanGuye,TangshanDouhe, which correspond to the NE Tangshan fault belt. The pattern of original time distribution is characterized by NE, NW and NNW zones. The hypocenters are mainly in the middle and upper crust. In the central and northern regions the hypocenters are shallower that indicates the NW part of the fault(hanging wall) thrust,so the hypocenters in the NW thrust upper block are shallower, while in the southern region the hypocenters are deeper. It indicates the hypocenters in the SE lower block are deeper.

35 ANALYSIS OF CHARACTERISTICS OF PRECURSOR WAVE OF LOW FREQUENT IN SHANXI BEFORE WENCHUAN Ms8.0 EARTHQUAKE

The changes of some precursory observation in Shanxi area before Wenchuan \%M\%s8.0 earthquake on May 12,2008 were
analysed, and following conclutions are drawn.
Firstly,the precursor waves of low frequent are main characters of the precursory change before the earthquake, and its superior period are 64-128 min.Secondly,the distribution of the abnormal points is in the same direction with the primary rupture of Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake.Thirdly, lowfrequency precursory waves occured in a crowded time, mainly from 14 to 16 o’clock on the May 11 and the precursory observation’s ability to respond to the precursory waves is related with the rock’s mechanics nature of the observation point, the frequency characteristics of the observation apparatuses, and tectonic locations where the observations points are located.

40 ACQUIRING 3D COSEISMIC DEFORMATION FIELD OF BAM EARTHQUAKE BY USING DINSAR AND AZO TECHNIQUES

The coseismic deformation field of the Bam earthquake(Mw 6.5)in LOS(line of sight)is obtained with two pass DInSAR technique based on ascending and descending pass Envisat ASAR images.Meanwhile,the azimuthal displacement is obeained with AZO(azimuthal pixel offsets)technique.Futhermore,the coseismic 3D deformation field is resulted from the deformation field in LOS and the azimuthal displacement.The results indicate that the seismogenic fault is a rightlateral strikeslip fault with a little effect of block rotation in eastwest direction.The southeastern quadrant block uplifts under the extrusion stress,and the northeastern quadrant block subsides under the tension stress.There is no dramatic deformation on surface that has a less extent rupture.

the microearthquake swarms in Luoquanhuang area of Zigui county, the cause of the earthquakes are analyzed. The event is ore earthquake of rock burst type related to coal mine exploitation and mining activity, the microearthquake swarms belong to occasional local stress releasing.

49 ANALYSIS OF SEISMIC ACTIVITY OF FENGJIE SECTION IN THREE GORGES RESERVOIR AREA

The reservoir seismicity in the Fengjie section of the Three Gorges reservoir and the induced seismicity after the inpondment of whole Three Gorges reservoir are studied.The results show that since the inpondment,the frequency of seismicity is increasing with the water level rising in the reservoir area and its range concentrates on both the banks of the Yangtze River and near the Fengjie fault.

52 NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF TOTAL DISPLACEMENT FIELDCHANGE AFTER IMPOUNDMENT OF THREE GORGES RESERVOIR

Using the numerical simulation by finite element method, the total displacement field change after Three Gorges reservoir impounding was calculated. We found out that there four extreme areas of total displacement appeared as Badong,Niukou,Guizhou and Xintan town after the water level reached 135 m. When water level cuts and tries impoundment to 172 m, the four extreme areas further expanded along the Yangtze river and the values also increased. We contrasted and analyzed the seismic activity and the total displacement field changes after the reservoir impounding to 135 m, and found out that four ML≥2.5 earthquakes occurred in the intersection part of the south section of the Gaoqiao fault and Badong extreme area went with the 135 m water level impounding. 14 ML≥2.5 earthquakes mostly occurred near the Badong and Xintan town total displacement extreme area, after the 172 m water
level impounding. The analysis suggests that the gradient zone of total displacement field of the upper crust surface is the active strong shear belt in the vertical direction. It’s also the belt where the vertical shear strain energy is large and the tectonic activity is strong. It’s easy to induce the reservoir earthquake.

56 RELOCATION OF GUOJIABA EARTHQUAKE SEQUENCEBY USING DOUBLE DIFFERENCE LOCATION ALGORITHM

The earthquake swarms around in Guojiaba \%M\%\-L3.8 earthquake epicenter in Three Gorges region were relocated with the double difference location method and 113 earthquakes location results were obtained.
It is found that these earthquakes are concentrated in the meizoseismal area. The direction appears north by west and depth is about 7 km. The research result shows the location accuracy with this method is better than that given before and many improvements have been mode in following aspects,minishing residual error, evaluating error and controlling epicenter distribution and focal depth

60 RELOCATION OF YANGJIANG EARTHQUAKE SEQUENCESWITH DOUBLE-DIFFERENCE LOCATION ALGORITHM

The Yangjiang earthquake sequences from January, 2004 to May,2007 were relocated with the double-difference location algorithm. The results show that two ML≥2.0 seismicity belts distributed in Yangjiang area before Yangjiang M4.9 earthquake occurred on 17th September, 2004, the direction of one belt was
NNW and the other was NW. The direction of NNW ML≥2.0 seismicity belt was consistent with the direction of nodal plane Ⅱ of focal mechanism and the focal rupture azimuth. The focal depth of NNW seismicity belt deepened gradually in one month before the 4.9 earthquake and it occurred at the southeast edge of NNW seismicity belt.

64 CHARACTERISTICS OF RECENT CRUSTAL DEFORMATION IN MEDIAN AND SURROUNDING AREAS OF YUNAN

With the use of repectedly measured level data in three periods:1992,2001 and 2006 , and GPS data in several periods from 1999 to 2007 in the median region of Yunnan, this paper analyzes the status and characteristics of crustal deformation in this area are analyzed. The results suggest that differential movement of the whole deformation field in median region of Yunnan is obvious and manifests itself of a characteristic of noninherit, and this reflects that the regional strain field has changed to some extent; the GPS results suggest that Indonesia earthquake has an obvious effect on Sichuan and Yunnan Area, and probably has an catalysis function on the happence of Wenchuan earthquake to certain extent.

68 RESEARCH ON METHOD FOR ENTIRE CALCULATION OF GPS STRAIN FIELD BY USING SPHERICAL HARMONIC FUNCTION

The method for entire calculation of GPS strain field in large region by using spherical harmonic function is discussed.On the basis of comparing the theoretical results and calculation results, the strain calculating method is tested effectively. Then, the correlation coefficients between theoretical result and calculation result are calculated, and the results show that the strain calculation method is very robust that the correlation coefficient does not decreased significantly with the increasing of addition error. Subsequently, the GPS strain rate field of local network in China mainland using 1999-2004 GPS velocity fields is analyzed and the effectiveness of sphere harmonic method from the viewpoint of distribution law of residual error. In view of the edge effect of sphere harmonic method, it give a solving method which is interpolating outside the researched region before strain calculation. Lastly, the characteristics of spherical harmonic function method are discussed and some advices of strain calculation are given.

The overall quality of tilt tide data observed with water tube and pendulum tiltmeters at Macheng station during 1994-2008 is evaluated.The results are as follows.These data of tilt observation for 14 years are continuous and reliable,the instruments work normally and stablly and the 5 quatity indexes reach the national advanced level,the result from narmonic analysis of long series shows that the tilt tide observation with the water tube has exceeded the international level in the terms of data accuracy,continuity and applicability.In the same time,it is shown that the values deviated from the mormal value before the Ruichang M5.7 and the Wenchuan M 8.0 earthquakes.

79 3D DATUM TRANSFORMATION MODEL BASED ON SPACE VECTOR

Through studying the relationship between space vectors of different coordinate systems, a new model of threedimensional
datum transformation is proposed.

Taking a simulation example, the comparison between this model and a traditional model proves that this model can simplify the complex calculation of traditional models and is suitable for any rotation angle. Besides, a project example is given to illustrate the reliability and feasibility of this model.

88 COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF STATE MODELS OF KALMAN FILTERING IN DEFORMATION MONITORING

In the kinematic positioning or dynamic deformation monitoring, random walk model, constant velocity model and constant acceleration model are usually applied as the state model of Kalman filter. However, with these simple kinematic models to describe the complex movement of the deformed body,the modeled results will are inevitably contained errors and under some abnormal disturbance there are inevitably significant model biases in the original kinematic model, which will seriously affect the accuracy of filtering. With simulated data
random walk model, constant velocity model, constant acceleration model and constant velocity model with correction of the model biases
are comparatively analyzed.
The advantages and disadvantages of the above models are summarized for the application of deformation monitoring.

97 A NEW METHOD FOR LONG-TERM PREDICTION OF SATELLITE CLOCK ERROR

A new way which can be used to forecast the clock error by the traditional quadratic polynomial model based on the scale of day, then the output values is interpolated by Lagrange interpolation polynomial to form the final forecasting results is proposed. The results show that the new method can significantly improve the accuracy of longterm satellite clock error prediction.

101 STUDY ON CYCLE SLIP DETECTION AND REPAIR BY USE OF KALMAN FILTERING

The principle and method of cycle slip detection and repair by using Kalman filtering are introduced, and the steps of solution are provided in detail. Furthermore, by taking prestical observation data as the example, this paper validates the usability of Kalman filtering in cycle slip detection and repair.The solution results indicate that when Kalman filtering detects the cycle slip in the nondifferential carrier phase observation data,the fluctuation of noise is very small and then cycle slip is easy to be found.Even if there is small cycle slip,Kalman filtering can also detect and repair it.

104 EVALUATION OF PRECISE POINT POSITIONING WITH UofC MODEL

Basic principle of precise point positioning (PPP) with UofC model was introduced. By comprehensively considering varied error correction models the PPP algorithm based on UofC model has been realized. Experiments with static and various dynamic data(which came from land,air and marine vehicles)were carried out to evaluate the accuracy of positioning results with PPP algorithm. It is demonstrated that accuracies of 2-3 cm and 10-20 cm can be achieved for static and kinematic positioning respectively

109 KINEMATIC ORBIT DETERMINATION OF GEO SATELLITE BASED ON KALMAN FILTERING

Considering the features of the motion of GEO( Geostationary Earth Orbit ) satellite, Kalman filtering by using constant velocity model as state equation is proposed. When there exists systematic errors, forward and backward filtering is used, and when not, forward filtering. And the idea behind forward and backward filtering is that, firstly, using forward filtering estimates systematic error parameters, then the values obtained are used to do backward filtering. The simulation results show when there exists only random errors in observations, the use of orbit determination by forward Kalman filtering has a relatively high accuracy, but once system errors are involved, the accuracy will decrease sharply. The forward Kalman filtering considering systematic error parameters can weaken the impacts of systematic errors to a certain degree; while the application of forward and backward Kalman filtering will further weaken the influences of systematic errors and improve the accuracy of orbit determination. The results also show that orbit determination by Kalman filtering can comparatively exactly estimate the running velocity of GEO satellite.

113 APPLICATION OF OPTIMAL DIMENSION MODELING FOR BP NETWORK IN PREDICTION OF TIME SERIES OF DEFORMATION

It is difficult for BP network to determine the number of input layer’s nodes as dealing with the deformation data of single time series.In order to solve this problem,the GP algorithm is used to calculate the correlation dimension.Taking the embedding dimension m as the best model dimension and reconstructing an equivalent phasespace according to the theory of reconstruction so as to provide a reasonable input for BP network.Considering the influence of dynamical factor of deformation as well as the difficulty of calculating number of input cell,the model can be applied to simulate and forecast the deformation.Two actual examples show that this model is reasonable and precise.

drawn.The stability and precision of GPS Block IIR-M Rb clock is better than those of Block IIR Rb clock and stability and precision of GPS Block IIR Rb clock is better than that of Block IIA Rb clock. Compared with Rb clock, Cs clock’s stability and precision is worse by 2-3 times. Thus, some suggestion can be offered as follows. Real time state monitoring of satellite atomic clock and clock error estimation can be achieved by Kalman filter considering stochastic model of satellite clock noise, and Kalman filter has some advantages in short time prediction of satellite clock error, average prediction RMS of Rb clock is 1.90 ns, which is superior to least square algorithms.

123 EVALUATION OF GRAVITY FIELD MODELS EGM2008 AND EGM96 APPLIED IN CHINESE AREA

The accuracies of the EGM2008 and EGM96 are compared by using the 854 GPS/leveling observations in China area.The results show that there is the evident systematic error between the geoids heights derived from the models and those from the observations. When the systematic errors are removed, the accuracies of EGM2008 and EGM96 are all improved. The 289 GPS/leveling observations in the western China are calculated, it is indicated that the EGM2008 is better than EGM96 in the western China.

Sea surface height(SSH)is composed of geoid undulation and sea surface topography(SST).SST focuses on long-wave,hence,in the inverse Vening-Meinesz formula,a smaller integral radius could reduce longwave error from SST,and improve the accuracy of the gravity.Satellite altimetry data and shipping measured gravity data are used,marine gravity is calculated by different integral radius,and conclusion is that 30′-60′ is the most suitable integral radius.

Considering the characteristics of the processing of aerial gravimetry data, a FIR digital filter based on the window function is designed. The results show that FIR digital filter has accurate linearity phase and its filtering process is steady and the method is simple and easy to be realized on the computer.The barrier phenomena in the Fourier transform can be partially reduced by the convolution integral in the process of filtering.

GPS clock is used for synchronizing microtremor data acquisition system to reach good consistency among the devices used in microtremor exploration.
