Abstract This paper studies the spatiotemporal changes of land cover in Badong area of Three Gorges reservoir area using remote sensing technology. Based on the analysis of stratigraphic datum of this area, the relation between the spatiotemporal changes of land cover and the stratum attributes is studied and some laws of geological environment change in Badong area are concluded.
