Abstract Using GRACE gravity field models, gravity changes in Chinese mainland and its vicinities before and after the Wenchuan earthquake are calculated. After removing the influence of water mass changes, the relationship between satellite gravity variation and simulated coseismic gravity changes based on displacement theory is analyzed. The result shows that the satellite gravity indicates the impact of the Wenchuan earthquake to China mainland.
