Abstract SpatialAutocorrelationmethod(SPAC)isoneofmainmethodsusedinmicrotremorexploration.It requiresanregularcirclearray.Thepositionofobservationsitesshouldbedeterminedbeforeobservation.Asirreg ularmicrtremorarraycanbeprocessedwithExtendSpatialAutocorrelationmethod(ESAC)whichmakespostpositioningpossible.Thephasevelocityobtainedbyregularandirregularmicrotremorarrayiscomparedbysimulation. Itshowsthattheresultfromregulararrayfitstheoreticalcurvewellandisbetterthanthosefromirregulararray,so wesuggestthatregularcirclearrayisnecessaryandaccuratepositioningshouldbedonebeforeobservation.
