RECURSIVE COMPUTATION OF MERIDIAN ARC LENGTH WITH DISCRETIONARY PRECISION

Abstract A new method for recursive computation of meridian arc length with discretionary precision is deduced on the basis of the arc formula, and its detailed algorithm as well as program in C/C++ are given. This method for arc length computation is proved through Microsoft VC++6.0,the result indicates that different precisions requirement in various conditions can be met with.
