VERTICAL FREE-AIR CORRECTION IN MARINE MAGNETIC SURVEY

Abstract The new concept of spatial correction of sensor has been brought out.The spherical magnetic field is simulated on the undulating observation surface, vertical freeair correction is computed from harmonic series. The mean square error of crossingpoint discrepancy is also computed. It is concluded that the mean square error of crossingpoint is improved about 10 nT after the vertical freeair correction.
