VICISSITUDES OF GEODESY IN QING DYNASTY

Abstract During the early Qing dynasty the geodetic work had been developed in an unprecedent scale becauce of the progress of geodesy in Europe and the emphasis on importing foreign survey talents and technologies by the authority.But it declined down gradually due to the decadent political institution and the despising of science and philosophy education.
