STUDY OF DEFORMATION CHARACTERISTICS IN FUJIAN AREABASED ON A VARIETY OF DEFORMATION DATA

Abstract Crustal strain field derived from the data from GPS observation network of Fujian area,the intensity accumulation rate of deformation velocity calculated from acrossfault vertical deformation and tensile or compression of each station based on acrossfault vertical deformation and other deformation observations are calculated, and then, based on these, the deformation characteristics in the periods:2005—2006, 2007—2008 and 2009—2010 in Fujian area are studied. It shows that there are two areas ,XiamenLongyanDongshan and the junction of Zhenghai and Shaxian Nanri island, with stronger tectonic activity, tendency accumulation, higher accumulation intensity, dominated mainly by compressive points, might be the zone with high risk of mediumstrong earthquakes.
