The Response Characteristics of High Frequency Magnetotelluric Method on Undulating Terrain Conditions
Abstract According to the forward theory of electromagnetic method, this paper has compiled the forward program of high frequency magnetotelluric method (HMT). In the frequency range of 10 to 105 Hz, we use the adaptive finite element method to simulate the effect of HMT data with undulating terrain. We make three models including peaks, valleys and undulating terrain to simulate the response curves of HMT. The influence of apparent resistivity and impedance phase curves of two polarization modes of TE and TM are analyzed and summarized. The conclusion can provide reference for the interpretation of HMT data under complex terrain conditions.
