Abstract The thirdorder GPS geodetic network is a longterm construction project of national basic surveying. Making full use of advanced GPS reference points of all kind of project can not only improve the accuracy but also accelerate the construction of the thirdorder GPS geodetic network. The calculating method based on advanced GPS reference points for the thirdorder GPS geodetic network is introduced and the data of an area is used as an example.
