Abstract The matter of blank place names in the South Tibet is studied and then by using a comprehensive compilation method, and based on 2002 1:4000000 open edition map of China, refering to 1935 edition, 1951 edition, 2009 edition of Tibet Map and the 2005 edition of Tibet Subcounty Map, we fill more place names of the eastern section of South Tibet in map of China, from the original 9 to 36, to fill the blank of the map of China, thus strengthen the sovereignty declare over this area.
