Abstract The spectrum, acceleration, speed and power magnification in threedimensional space of the demolition earthquake wave from the cofferdam broken of the right bank of a great dam are studied,and the characteristic responses of different height,different direction and different medium of concrete gravity dam to the demolition earthquake waves are obtained.
